Half fill a bucket of water with hand hot water (as hot as you can take it). Put in a good squirt of baby oil (some people use dettol). Swill round with an old flannel. Wring out flannel well and start at head of horse rubbing firmly into coat in a good circular motion to bring dirt and dust to the surface. Keep re-dunking and wringing out the dirty water/flannel (not into the bucket!) until you have done the horse from head to foot. Finish with a good firm brush over with a good quality and clean body brush. Stand back at admire clean and shiny horse !!! I do this all year round most times I ride and every time we are off to a show PS, this only really works on summer or clipped coats . . . . not really suited to hairy's Last edited: 10 April 2011
