Well got back at 3.00pm today and I feel like I could go to bed now and wake up at the same time tomorrow night
Had a fab weekend, I was gromming for my friend as she was in the CCI**. Arrived around 6.00pm Friday evening went and walked the course, and I have to say it was a long old course
(Opp time was 9.2 mins) so you can see how long it was for us on foot! Went back to the mobile got the mobile BBQ out and had heaps of food and drink
..
Got up at 7.30am to go and feed the horse and muck out, 10 min bike ride to the stables, got all those things done went back to the lorry to have some breakfast.
My friend got 60 in her dressage and there were quite a few in the 60's, she was pleased as it was the horses first ** - The CCI* had started I went and watched another friend that was going round he went clear, and I have to say there were quite a few clears going round the one star, people were saying it was a nice course.
Then the ** had started went and watched a few go round as the course was very technical and was causing so many problems, we were watching the first 6 horses and not one went clear.. Mary King/J Breakwell etc were all having stops.
We were stood with Tom Robinson and he does make me laugh!! anyway after watching a few where they were stopping, my friend said she was going to take the long route.
They had a very big solid spread thing, go down a hill, up a hill over a log, down a hill 3 strides onto a skinny and all the horses were running out to the left.. So long route was safer.
P French fell off
Went back to the lorry got the horse ready etc, tacked up greased up and off he went.
Warmed up very fresh
!!! and he was ready to go, I went and stood where all the other grooms were with the bucket and rugs at the ready for when she finished
...
In to the start box and she was off, all I could do was listen
And it was all very good clear over all the fences.. He was on his way home, coming up to the last three and I saw her pull him up from a distance, was not sure why
She pulled him up as it was quite a long gallop she picked it all back up ready for the fence and he brook into trot
his steam was out.. She said he could of gone on for the last three fences but she was not going to risk it
He has a Wind Pipe problem anyway, and now its effecting his performance she is going to look into having an operation on him.
She was really pleased as he was clear all the way, such a shame but she did the right thing.
So all that over and done.. It was around 3pm and we thought there was no point driving back now, so we stayed for the party
and I was rather drunk! Had a great time, giving O Townend the eye
HE is such a tart though! I was watching him eyeing up every girl that walked near him and my god he really is a tart!
Mary King is good fun, she can dance for england! her and Nigel Taylor were on that dance floor most of the night!
So woke up with a hangover - No SJing which was a shame, but hey ho 5 hours later we were home.
Excellent weekend and an experince as I have never been to a 3 day before.
Have to say the showers were HORRID! I am glad I kept my flip flops on thats all I can say!!!!!!!
Hope everyone else had agood weekend.
And I did see the photos of Diva Ellesj - they are fab!
Houghton Internation is to die for - its an amazing place, my friend is gutted as she needed this to start her qualifer for Blenhiem, but at the end of the day her horses health is more important.
I think they are hoping to run a *** and **** star in the next few years.
O and one more thing the ruddy toilet's were around a 20 min walk from the lorry, so I need the loo in the night! got on the bike in my PJ's and I fell off! still rather drunk! Thank god it was 4.00am and there was nobody around!
