Well if we are playing this game, heres my puppy. Hes nearly 5 months old and absolutely enormous! The pic is a month old, hes grown again since then. I'm slightly concerned hes going to end up the size of a shetland pony

It's funny L_W, part of me would never want a puppy again as they are so much hassle - maybe if I won the lottery and was at home 24/7! - but truly there is nothing better than a whippet puppy <3 <3 My mum historically described whippet puppies as 'unlikely' and I still think this is a good description :) Just gorgeous :) :)

How cool is you black and white dog Levrier! I dont think I've seen one that spotty before!

It is quite worrying lol - her spots increase as the years go on, and if she sunbathes in the summer (which she loves to do) her spots increase! Must be like freckles I suppose :)

He is charm personified most of the time, and hes such an innocent. This is him stealing the lid of the clothes basket and proudly bringing it to show me. The big dog would have had the sense to hide out somewhere

Beautiful dogs and I can see the appeal of a graceful, gentle hound ... but you really can't beat a shepherd.

I'm another who just adores her dogs - to the detriment of everyone else most of the time :D

I think you all know I'm soppy on my dogs. Photo bucket is misbehaving, so no pic of the old lad :(

They are my reason for getting up in the morning, mostly cos they fly upstairs and land on my face when they're bored!

Not a hound, but as the sun was shining yesterday we went to play in the snow at parents house:

We were fetching balls, but it's more fun to just dash around like a eejit :)

yes too much....worry when there is the slightest hint of anything wrong and lurchers seem to be experts at injuring themselves. lost my girl in september at nearly 13 and miss her everyday.....my collie cross is the loveliest ,easiest dog ever, but has never taken my heart as much as my lurcher...

Ditto. My house is going to feel so empty tomorrow night when my boy will be gone :(

No dog will replace him, but I'm already thinking about future dogs while poorly boy is currently resting on me on the sofa, as my house will be too empty (despite a 4 month old baby human and all their stuff! Who may also put rescues off me)

My heart is aching for you Pippa :( The hardest part is making the decision and the precious time you have leading up to the vet coming. Afterwards, although you will be bereft, I am sure you will feel some relief that the deed is done and he is out of any discomfort or pain. Life is cruel. I will be thinking of you x

When you are ready for another shepherd, let us know and I am sure there are plenty on here who will be happy to help if we can x
