So, we got an email from the Master saying that due to the inclement weather hunting was cancelled on Sat however all were welcome for hound exercise (followed by bacon butties back at his house). Fabbo I thought and merrily set off on Saturday expecting a quiet amble accross some fields...how wrong was I?
The quiet amble turned into 2 hours of trotting/cantering and only having a quick seconds rest when a hound got stuck somewhere (had all the pairs that have just come back from their puppy walkers out so they were all over the place). My poor legs felt like jelly after about 90mins and I thought I was going to collapse at one stage LOL. Still, the boy coped brilliantly which shows he is fitter than I thought.
I've never been so please to see: (i) where we parked come back into view; (ii) a plate of bacon sandwiches; and (iii) a big pot of tea in my life!
Roll on next Saturday, I much prefer having a bit of a blast then standing around for 20 mins chatting and getting the hip flasks out
