How long are you expected to keep them for walking?

I have had my 2 little 'treasures' since May and other than the inevitable destruction, are causing no major problems. However they are currently housed in a liveries stable who needs it back from Oct, and have no other stables spare.

Would it be bad form to return them in Oct? I love having them and would like to walk some more next summer, but don't want the kennels be put off by the fact I can't keep them beyond 6 mnths.

Thanks in advance!

As long as they know their names, come when called, lead properly and have had a good introduction to the world, you've done your job. The hunt will not be offended in the slightest. I've had a couple where the hunt had to insist on collecting them because they were so well behaved I was reluctant to part :), and have had a couple that were such thugs, fighting and scrapping with my own dogs and wouldn't back off that I sent them back after a month (but that is very unusual).
