I am beginning to think it must be a territorial thing? I fed the dogs this morning, the back door was open as usual, but I waited in the kitchen until Islay had finished eating and I saw her go out into the garden and begin to sniff round as if about to have a pee. Then I went upstairs..... I came down 2 minutes later and she had come back in and peed on the kitchen floor

I am not really sure how to solve it other than actually feeding her outside all the time, if she is marking her territory where she has eaten???

Does anyone have any more thoughts please

I suppose so yes - I had really thought when I left her this morning that she was 'committed' to going outside, it wasnt raining or anything!

The back door had been open since 5.30am today as well, so she had had plenty of opportunity to mooch round the garden before she was fed at 8.45am

I have a little puppy too, we had a little trouble with mishaps in the house but i spoke to my dog trainer who said that you must link a word to their 'toilet going'
i take Mitsy outside and say "wee-wees". My trainer uses "hurry-ups"
its what works for you, just stick to a keyword
once pup does it's business, praise it for going outside
if you catch them going to the loo inside, grab them quick and let them finish their business outside to reinforce that you want them to go outside
it's usually about 3/4 of an hour after eating they may want to go
hope this helps!
