Dear diary
Happy Kissmuss!
Apologies for the tardiness of my entry today but we have been having technical issues. Well more like mother issues to be honest. She's in spain seeing my Grandma and Grandad so I have had to dictate my entry over the phone to her for her to write it down. This is due to her ongoing refusal to buy me my own laptop and led to major issues with her forgetting her log on details. This does not surprise me one little bit as every day she seems to forget I am a big boy and insists on calling me all sorts of embarassing names in front of the ladies.
Anyway this week has seen me still retired. I am LOVING it! The journey to the fields is fun as I get to see mum slithering all over and expressing herself with postively amazing fluency. Who needs that torvil and Dean pair? I've got mother doing Bollero with a fence post and a yard of electrical fencing.... Plus watching her puffing along bringing my water and hay is priceless. Bambi on ice has nothing on mum and a large water carrier.
I continue to help mum break the ice out of my bucket and carry my haynet up the field which I kow she secretly loves.... well I'm sure thats what she means really when shes suggest i might be retarded?
Earlier this week my next door neighbour Barney was taken ill. He had a bad tummy ache and boss lady sarah came out at all hours to give him some reallly yummy stuff called peppermint tea to drink. I know its yummy because I feigned dehydration and she let me have some too. She put extra sugar in mine which was brave - I'm not sure shes seen what sugar does to a Destroyer yet.... I'm also not sure mum is getting the idea that this is how I should be treated so I'm working on educating her. Boss lady Sarahs foal likes me and I have now trained him to bring me carrots and apples. The fact he fed me all the familys vegatables that were meant for their tea the other day did not go down well but I was well happy. Mother was rather embarrassed but heh if my fans wish to feed me what can I do?
So Mum is away for Kissmuss which means I get a quiet one with the lads and lots of presents when she gets back. Plus hopefully some under the haynet action with Dolly later tonight. At least i hope so - we're drawing straws to see who gets to snog who. I've bribed little Arnie to tell me which one is the longest straw as hes so small he can see underneath. I'm not spending kissmuss playing toncil tennis with Tom, no way jose!
But despite all the fun of kissmuss I am also sad today as it was a year ago I lost the one true love of my life - fit mare.
I've written a little poem for her:
Its been a year since I lost my girl
An awful day that changed my world
Every day I miss her still
And forever more I always will
I can close my eyes and see her there
My black beauty, my fit mare
Coat like satin, dark as night
Four little socks shining white
Shes at my shoulder running free
Wherever I am, she comes with me
Because shes in my heart, in my soul
Forever young, never growing old
Shes over the bridge, on the other side
With all the horses who've ever died
Waiting for us all to meet again
When our lives have come to journeys end
In loving memory of Minnie "Moo" Marshall.
I miss you gorgeous girl
