Dear diary
I am exhausted. I’m over worked, under paid and under appreciated. I want a new mum and dad. I want a massage. I want a fit mare to lick me all over. I want to stay in bed today!
Phew I feel better for that!
This week has been like boot camp. I have been worked into the ground – I feel so feeble I can barely type these words

On Saturday Dad I went on a hack with posh SJ mare, loony SJ boy and a couple of others. It was great fun but I wanted to be at the front. So I pulled dads arms …..Quite a lot. Oooops. Big mistake. HUGE. I’ll come back to why in a moment.
On Sunday mum and I had a nice little ride and as usual I was as good as gold for her. I love my mum even if she did then give me another bath. In the middle of the yard. With cold water. Apparently she had to (yeah right) cos the stuff she put on me last week had to be put on again. Yeah right do I look like I was born in a bog in Ireland? Huum? Do people think I’m stupid?
On monad the trouble started. Dad took me into the jumping paddock. Oh WOW!! I love jumping SO much. So ok I was a little strong but if he’d have just let me get on with it I’d got everything under control – all he had to do was sit there. In the end I’d had enough of him insisting he knew better than me so I started running away from the jumps. Ouch – note to self don’t do that again. I was in BIG trouble.
SO on Tuesday Dad and I went in there again. Fabby I thought! Alas no. These evil evil parents of mine have put something new in my mouth and boy I don’t like it! I can’t run away in it at all. How pants is that? Aunty Sarah jumped me to cos mum is way again and I’ve started to think she’s a bossy mare as well. I like to go into a jump MY way not her way. Alas with this new horrible thing in my mouth she seemed to be stronger than me so I lost. Dad was really smug. I don’t think it’s funny.

So last night we went to a COMPETITION!! I had to go with two-timing-ginger-wench mare again but I am started to think I might have judged her too harshly. From hereon in she is not-too-bad-even-if-she-is-ginger-wench mare. Anyway we got there and dad tacked me up and took me into the warm up thingy. I don’t like it in there storied to take dad out of there at top speed. But drat it! That damned metal thing stopped me again. So I figured if Dad wanted to die we might as well stay in there and work. So we jumped a few jumps and then we went into the big place.
I liked in there and was quite happy until we went near this wall and people were in it! And a horse!! Who looked like me! How freaky! I didn’t like that bit so when we came t jump the fence near there I ran away. Dad made me come back and jump it so I did and dashed to the next fence. After that all was fine and so we jumped everything else clear. I am such a clever boy!

Then Aunty Sarah jumped me and I just didn’t pick my feet up over the fence near the scary horse that looked like me. I was too busy checking he wasn’t behind the wall anywhere. But I decided this was all quite fun so I jumped all the others. Aunty Sarah and Dad made a big fuss and gave me treats. Fab!
Dad says mum will be really proud of me. Which I love.
Do you think she might take this thing out of my mouth so I can go fast again?

ROFLAMO - not a chance Hovis boy, that metal thing stays until you remember not to tank off with your Dad - ever! Be a good lad and you'll get the nice thing back someday

Aww Hovis you never fail to make me laugh. Sounds like you had a good week and your Mum should be proud of you. I dont think you will be getting that new bit out anytime soon though

Well done for your SJ sucess Hovis! Mum is taking me to do something called simulated XC on Saturday. I hate spooky fillers and planks so if they are there I may have to employ your running away tactics. Hope she doesn't put a horrid metal thing in my mouth! Chestnut mare sounds fit... I love chestnut mares, they boss me around.
