Firstly, ignore my funny shape!! I'm wearing 2 pairs of trousers (too lazy to take my jods off LOL) that's why my hips look...huge.

A HUGE thank you so the HHOers who helped me to achieve my new showing look!
Stock isn't tied properly, but it was a rushed photo :P
Outfit isn't 100% complete yet, but we're nearly there :D

Thank you guys!!!

100% better than your last effort :) but as Amymay says you need and shirt and tie, not a stock. You need to take the rubber bit guards of and you should really use a bridle with a flat plain hunter noseband with the reins. That is correct for in-hand for a horses over 3yrs.Not sure what that emblem is on the jacket, if its removable take it of. You dont need a button-hole they are for showponies.

This is daughters in-hand outfit

Rubber bit guards (or the bit, I'd rather have a new bit that take those bloomin' things off!) won't be on for long, as a lovely HHOer has sent me a new bit in the post :D
I've seen a few people with little badges on their jackets, but if it's not correct, I can take it off (A friend bought it for my birthday when I was about 7)
Noseband is flat, but not sure if it's a hunter style.

Brilliant! Just put the new bit on, noseband looks good :) Just put some plain leather reins on instead of the chain and lead. I know the badge probably has sentimental value but you should take it of :) Daughter ties her hair back with plenty of hair spray, puts it in a plait and rolls and bands it into a bun and then puts a hairnet over the lot. I get her shirts from ASDA in the mens department, she has a 14 1/2 inch neck which gives a nice snug fit. Her tie was from ASDA aswell.:)

Not got the bit yet, but it'll be put right on when it arrived :)
I have some plain leather reins but I was told I could use a lead XD I'm so confused, haha!
Badge does have sentimental value, of course, but it's no problem taking it off :P I thought I finally had a use for it! Have some hairnets and hopefully I'll have a new hat velvet in the post!

Use reins on an adult horse that is not of a specific breed. Def lose the stock - it is never correct for showing unless in an evening performance/championship at one of the big shows.

I love the colour of the trousers.

Am assuming gloves, hairnet and hat will be in the equation somewhere? (and yes to losing the badge!)

Make sure you don't ruin the outfit using a grotty piece of string for your number - either find a thin piece of brown elastic or cut some plaiting thread to the right size (tie loops at either end and hook around the buttons.

Loose the devil's stock (I have stock-rage, I hate the things) and replace with a nice smart tie - now you can tie them properly. Loose the badge, change the bit, throw in a hair net and some gloves and you're pretty well there.

And the showing lead rein... FMM knows what they're talking about ;)

Got hair net, tie and gloves (I've got brown and black fabric, and some black leather ones, which are best?)a bit is coming in the post.

Arg, back to horsatack I go to return my purchases.

Never black gloves for showing (tradiionally funeral colour). Brown, beige etc are correct.

To get the bit rings off (for your future reference) Take two pieces of binder twine. Tie each into a loop. Put one end of each loop through the rubber ring. Now put BOTH ends of the same loop of twine over a door handle and put your foot through BOTH ends of the other loop. Apply pressure with foot until rubber ring stretches enough to get bit out. This also works for putting them back on again.

Thanks :) though I have an image of ripping the door handle off! But I'll find something, if I need to take rings off/put them on :)

If you have trouble with the bit rings, you can soak them in warm water to soften them so they stretch more easily.

I did do that to get them on, it was still very very hard :P
I managed to cut myself >: ( on myself, not on the bit or rings! I ended up thoroughly cross with the who process :P

I cut myself doing up the zip on my long boots the other week. I had no idea non-riding horse stuff was so dangerous
