How are they looking (weight and condition)?

Heres Mysti ....

Shes a 6 year old welsh section a thats not ridden but lunged 3/4 times a week.
Had lami last summer (not with me then)

Shes fed a handful of pony nuts with oil & garlic. Half a sec of soaked but very very green (just cut) hay am and pm

No grass in their field at all, but she gets roughly 1-2 hours on goodish grass once a day.

Scuse miss mucky its all this rain ...

And heres Honey ...

Shes a 12yo 14.1hh welsh x we think

Shes fed the same as Mysti, and lunged maybe 1 or 2 times a week.

Cos shes pwetty ..

So how do they look .. dont be too harsh

Honey is looking great, Mysti looks a tiny bit podgy in the first few, but fine in the last few.

They're both VERY cute though! =]

I think they both look fine Mysti could do with a bit more of a topline, maybe do this by doing a little bit more lungeing? Other than that, I think weight wise she's okay, wouldn't want her to get any bigger though Honey looks lovely by the way! xx

Yeah i was thinking the same thing ..

Trouble is i cant lunge in side reins because she wont wear a bit, so she just sticks her head in the air .. lol

You can use side reins onto the side rings of a headcollar or lunging cavesson too!

Sorry if I'm wrong, never really had experience with a Pessoa, but doesn't it require a bit also?

Also, you could try longreining her, it's interesting and might help with the topline She's a lovely ponio by the way! xx

Ye technically it does, but I'm sure you could attach the rings to the headcollar loops on the sides of their faces?

Hmm weve tryed longreining ..

Its very frustrating because no matter how much i try and persist and try to show her its not scarey, go back to square one .. she fights to the death :s

I doubt i could get a pessoa to fit her!!!!!

But will try the sidereins on the headcollar

Shes got a deformed jaw, so a bit doest sit right in her mouth. Although my new EDT thinks it shouldnt be causing a problem .. so may just be her being a madam as usual
