I know a few people have brought up the current plight of the Egyptian horses, but these photos truly shocked me. For those that dont know, these are just 3 of the horses in Egypt at the moment who look like this. These are the lucky ones.

OK, maybe a stupid question, but why can't someone just shoot them? No horses should just be left to rot like that.

I strongly encourage anyone to support these people in their efforts too. They are angels here on Earth and see horrors in regards to animal welfare that most of us are lucky to not know. They are trying so hard when resources and everything around them makes it a challenge (to put it lightly)


Before anyone makes comments about these horses/pictures in specific I strongly urge you to join the FB page and spend some time reading through. All of your questions will have veen answered I imagine and things may be more clear as to the how/why

Flame_ - these horses were bought 'out of harness', they are pyramid horses hired out to tourists... as Jade says, have a look at the FB page, if explains a lot.

Like everything online, there are risks on Facebook. I use it, but I don't disclose my full name, address or phone number etc. I'm careful with my settings and security.

Having said that, I also find it fun and sometimes informative.

Well basically it's all down to the lack of tourism due to the uprising. the owners aren't earning any money, so the horses aren't getting fed. There's also a lack of education with regards to tack fitting. some of the sores are horrific :-(

So really, probably not fair to be shooting or hanging the owners hey? (not that you said it but you've outlined the cause so I've quoted you, hope you don't mind)
