How badly affected by the weather is your riding?

Seeing as I am SO BORED of not being able to get out of the yard safely! I thought I would see how the rest of you are getting on?
I havent ridden now for 3 weeks , mainly due to the sheet ice in the yard and on the surrounding quiet roads. On the rare occasion it starts to improve I have been concerned as my horse is new to me and to say she is a little fresh is an understatment!
Im concerned that over exuberance may stop her treading carefully!
We have an outdoor school, but its so frozen its extremley hard underfoot.
How are you all getting on. We are in West Cornwall , even the hunts are going out on foot!
Oh how i dream of an indoor school!

Havn't ridden for over a month due to frozen school, snow, still frozen school and now more snow. :(:(:(
It's gonna be fun getting back on Horrid if it ever thaws. Think afew days lunging may be inorder ;) :p :D :D

Lacey has been ridden about 4 times so far in December :(

(Our arena lights went out before the ice came and as I ride on evening that was a no go ).

I'm not too worried - the first time I got back on after nearly 3 weeks off she was very ploddy and acted like a 25yo rather than a fresh 5yo!

I've ridden rose once in the last 4 weeks but she's not fazed by this in the slightest. She's only 5 and I broke her in last April so I'm not too bothered about her having time off as I think it does them good :)

I am taking my horse to our first show together and i havent been able to ride this week i managed to get a lesson 2 weeks ago though,

luckily my horse just gets lazy if you dont ride him, id rather that than being hyper though!

I've carried on riding as normal pretty much. The outdoor school isn't finished yet anyway, and the indoor still needs it's surface put down, so it hasn't really made much of a difference to what we're doing.
I'm still hacking out and doing canter work, and the odd bit of schooling as we go.
I'm lucky that I'm so in the middle of nowhere that cars and snow ploughs don't get to me, so it's all nice powdery snow to ride through rather than ice rinks!

Have only been able to ride my horse a handful of times in last month. Been on 2 hacks when slight thaw set and before second batch of snow. Walkes around in school but too hard underneath to do anything more. Have no transport to get anywhere to ride.
Not really worried as think the time off will be good for him as he had a busy year. Am using the opportunity to have some lessons at my local riding school to work on my position.

We have an indoor (well, open on two sides), but to be honest, most people are not doing a lot. The yard itself is icy, the roads around and about are like glass, the horses are seemingly happy to have a buck and a kick in the school, some time on the walker and then back to bed for a groom and some haylage.

I got my big horse out last Friday, but unless we get a rise in temperature, I can't see much happening over Christmas!
