How best to treat a sore eye

Pup has a slightly weepy eye, no muck in the discharge, and eye is perfectly clear and bright, not conjunctivitus or similar. I suspect she may have been caught by a swipe from the cat on the very bottom edge of the lower lid. What is the best thing to bathe it with, just boiled water? Im sure I remember someone telling me a warm tea bag (tanin) is quite useful but on a pup (she is 12 weeks now). I will pop her to the vet if it looks any worse later but at the moment it is just a bit wet below that lid.

I would maybe ring the vet or vet nurse and get them to talk you through it.

like CC says Vet is best as eyes are sensitive and you can't be too careful, for a wash out of eyes you would need to use sterile saline solution from a sterile dropper bottle and no contact with the eye, anything else and you could introduce infection especially if it is a scratch of some kind.
