So I have a yearling colt - when I picked him I loved the fact that he was a lump and biggest foal in the field. I liked his 16.2hh Warmblood dam and 15.2hh Cob sire - wanted a chunky but athletic horse which I'm sure he will be/is.

His currently 14.2hh and having done the prediction string test - I estimate he will be around 16.2hh give or take.

People are constantly telling my his hugh, his going to be massive, his going to be 18hh ect

Does any one know if that's possible/examples? His not got massive parents so I just assumed he wouldn't - but I knew when I got him its pot luck with height. I'd prefer he be over instead of under 16hh. I'll keep him either way.

My ISH x irish cob youngster was 20 months when I bought him, standing at 14.2hh. He was predicted to make around 16hh, but is just turning 3 and is 16hh already, and his back end is shooting up again. I'm thinking he'll make a nice chunky 16.3hh, which would be perfect! x

My ISH is 2 in may and is 15.3.... vet reckons he will reach 17.1. His dam is 16.1 and shire 17.2 (maybe 17.1??? can't remember!)

Guess will just have to wait and see.

One breeder said that if I cut him as a yearling he will grow an extra 3inches - if I wait till his 3yo and cut him then he won't. Anyone ever heard of this?
