How can i get a brand to show up

My horse has a brand on his bum but he dapple grey and its hard to see iv bathed him groomed him inch of his life put a warm cloth on it to bring it up has anyone got other ideas he has a strange background and hoping the brand will give me some clues

My lad's brand doesn't show up either, he is chestnut. So am bumping up to see any ideas. But what I used was chalk. But would love to find a better way.

Clip him. Gerry's shows really clearly when he's freshly clipped. Do you have any idea what sort of brand it might be? I looked up different types of brands on the internet before I clipped Gerry so I knew what I was looking for.

Hes a spanish horse he surpose to be andalusian but what iv heard of the breed he dosent act like one clipping is a big no no for him. He has breed papers but dont believe a word on them but i could be wrong

What is his name and does he have Roman numerals after it? If so, you can look him up on the Spanish Studbook website. Do you have his sire and dam's name too?

If he won't be clipped then remove the hair first with a horse razor to shorten the hair then with a human razor - wet the skin and the brand should show up well.
