How can I get kitted out on a budget

The last couple of seasons I have hunted sporadically whenever the meet has been within riding distance. This year I have a trailer and plan to get out a lot more. Whereas before my summer show jacket, summer stock shirt and normal riding crop did the job, I would like to get kitted out properly this year. Trouble is I'm on a bit of a restricted budget and anything to do with hunting seems to be so expensive.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to pick up cheap hunting gear? My first priority is a woolen hunting jacket and then a whip. I have tried ebay and everything still seems to go for a premium. I'm quite happy to opt for second hand .

Calcutt & son do seecond hand.

I wouldn't honestly worry about a hunting whip. It is an extra perk not a necessaty. I never really use mine for gates (just my hands) The lash is for keeping hounds out your horses legs which the field will not really need to do that much, just concentrate on having your horse facing hounds should they come through.
Again I picked up mine 2nd hand from above for £50ish though.

Also a word with the hunt sec they may know of someone who has bought a new one or may have a spare, or such.

There is The Hunting Stock Market I think there called that & a few other places. WIll have a look later for you!
