My mare is only fed on hay and grass and I want to give her Equistro Betamag supplement. How can I feed this to her? Should I buy some kind of hard feed to add the supplement to or is there another way, as I would really rather not have to buy a hard feed as am living in France and the choice is not great. I could get a product called Fibrissimo, which is basically cubes of hay which I could feed in a bucket. Or could I add it to fruit?

You could just sprinkle it on the hay. If you soak the hay or wet it a little it will improve stickability. If she will not accept it like that she may take it with a treat from your hand. During the summer I do not feed hay so give supplements to mine with a tiny number of soaked cubes in a bucket

Is that cubes of hay like I mentioned?

Your best bet might be getting hold of a 50ml catheter tip syringe (wider at the tip, that is if you know a nurse etc that could get one for you, or ask at your vets) and mix it with water etc as mentioned before. If your horse isn't fussy he/she might accept supplements hidden inside an apple, worth a try!
