How can I mark my haynets?

Having trouble with haynets going missing. I definately filled 2 this morning to use this evening and put them nect to my bale of haylage, but this evening there was only one there. This has happened a couple of times over the last week. Also my haylage seems to have been used up much quicker than I normally do.

Now I have 2 haynets which are different to anyone else's and these seem to stay, but the others I use are similar to others on the yard.

I am the only DIY livery (the other 3 are full liveries) and so it can only be the YO or the YM.

I will have to have a word tomorrow, I think someone's got in a muddle about whose bale/nets are whose.

But how can I tag my nets? I thought about a keyring on the bottom, but might the horses bite it off and swallow/choke?

That's a good idea - I wonder if the local cow farmer will be able to give me a couple.

I think I have some ribbon left over from when my daughters were younger and had their hair done up in ribbons. I will dig it out and tie it on the nets after having a chat to YO and YM tomorrow.
 
Get some different coloured rope and re-thread the bit which you use to tie it up, or get some insulating tape and wrap it round the tie up rope.
 
What about coloured cable ties, you can get short ones too so could loop them through the bottom ring and maybe one of the top rings. You can cut off any extra if you need to. Get them at a tool shop, B & Q etc. Failing that, get another two nets the same as your others if those ones don't walk.

That's what i do and it works, no more missing nets!
 
just put some coloured tape on them, like insulating tape, like the stuff eventers wrap around there boots just incase the velcro comes indone, thats what i used to do, no risk of the horse chewing it etc. just get a colour to mark all your stuff with so if something has got your colour tape on they know its your stuff. simples

i've changed the rope on all of my..its bright yellow and stands out a mile and stronger than what comes on them as well...just remember you can't be kind and offer them it when there ropes break!!!

Just use the same colour haynets, I do so for each of my horses. Angel is black, Willow is red, Oscar is blus and Rocco is green and no mix up if my OH has to do them.

I use sheep ear tags. I have my surname printed on them and clip them on to everything I can! Rugs, buckets, nets, etc. The come in lots of different colours, too. Brilliant
