My surface has now been down for 4 years & I'm aware that you are supposed to top it up after 3 years. The surface has pretty well degraded into 'dust' & it's dusty & slippery when dry & soggy & slippery when wet.
However, the membranes have been working their way through since about year 2. To start with, I sewed them back down with plaiting thread, but now the edges are popping up all over the place. It has always seemed to have 'deep' & 'shallow' bits, & now that the surface is thinning, it would seem that the hardcore underneath isn't particularly level.
I doubt if the people who laid it would be responsible now that it's 4 years old, & they can't even be a**ed to reply to my e-mail asking for the price of a top-up.
What should I do? How can I stop the membrane edges popping up? It seems to have been laid in overlapping strips & not stuck down. Should I just top it up for now, or have a go at re-laying the membrane or levelling the hardcore? I have a compact tractor & a not particularly heavy roller.
Arrrrgggghh, why is nothing ever cheap or easy???
