well my ponies suffer from sweet itch, which just started flaring up the other day, when i was posting about weeping eyes.

My ponies were a bit hot in their New Zealands anyways, so they are now in their fly stuff, masks etc.

Now the problem is when it rains, they get a bit soggy, its not really cold anymore. So do you think they are ok??

Just feel like I cant win sometimes.

they live out 24/7 by the way.

Could you put a thin turnout over the top of their fly rug at all? I had a similar prob with my old horse, think I tried that way and it worked but she was old and didn;t charge about much, so no worries about rugs getting moved!

I wouldnt worry about it. What sort of fly rugs are they? I had a horse in a Boett from spring to autumn and had no problems even when it got wet - they dry off really quickly. If the weather was particularily bad and I felt he'd get chilly, I chucked a very lightweight Amigo turnout on top (literally a waterproof sheet).
