Theres been a lates slashing attack on the 15th of Sept. A 15 yr old thoroughbred was attacked in his stable. It sais, it is believed that wire was placed over the tongue and lower jaw and a knife used to slice skin from his cheek to chin.
How can people do these sort of things? It is just awful!

Having my horses/ponies, family, property & self attacked/vandalised is why I no longer have a horse/pony, and why I and my children no longer compete either!

Some people are just plain sick

I do wonder how many of these 'attacks' are actually horses managing to hurt themselves. I have seen some horrific accidents horses caused upon themselves, and can not imagine so many people would do that type of random cruel act.

Sorry if this bursts anyone’s innocence bubble but:

I have yet to see horses that can tie barbed wire around their own legs, tie a noose around their own necks and hang themselves from a tree with it, cut off parts of themselves and leave the parts on the ground by their water butt, slash themselves with razor blades and leave the razor blades in their feed buckets after for me or my children to find.

Oh and yes my horses/ponies were so clever that they used wire cutters between their teeth to cut up the fencing around their fields, and pop out of their field to arson their horse-box just for fun? Then of course they obviously got together to tie sharp trip wire all over the place around their field at dust, so I could trip over one land on a heavy duty bucket and have a miscarriage at five and a half months pregnant.

All the above attacks and a hell of a lot more in my case are on Police records/files. Please do not be insulting, there is a world of difference between a horse accidentally hurting itself, and being attacked by cruel Baxxaxd’s. The owners, vets, police do know the difference. Things that you or I could not imagine ever doing, some people enjoy doing, after injuring/killing animals some go on the murder humans!

yes but how can a horse manage to pug barbed wire in its moth by its self and cut its self down the face? i mean yes there could be possible ways if there was barbed wire in the field but this horse wasn't in the field and not many people do leave barbed wire and a knife lying about in a stable.

Ha GTs
Didn't mean to be that hard on you. Just that when you have lived through having your horses/ponies attacked as I have, you tend to find any insinuation that it is somehow your own fault through some sort of neglect, tends to make you see red. Especially when the incident being talked about is so obviously an outright nasty attack.
People who do this sort of attack make my blood boil, and it isn't right that anyone should have to be scared or live in fear of anyone doing such revolting things. I didn't keep any barbed wire at all in or out of my fields. Always made sure that there was nothing they could harm themselves on or get caught up in.
Glad there are no attacks in Perry's area, good to hear!

No, I did not feel anyone was hard on me - in my 10 years in the US I have never heard of a horse being attacked in that way I would not have imagined that it would be different in the UK. I can only imagine you would need experience around horses to be able to carry out such an attack which makes it all the more perplexing.

Would be interested to know more details..where exactly, for example...

These attacks(and they are rare) are even more rarely caused by somebody who has a thing about injuring animals, they are usually intended to cause suffering to a person connected with the animal by way of a threat, or revenge attack. Quite often incidents initially reported as attacks are not, and by some obscure method the horse has injured intself, or if found dead, has been mauled by other animals post mortem.

I am always a bit wary of these stories unless I know the source....

Hi There
GTs the ones suspected of attacking my animals did have a lot of horsy knowledge. I cannot go into all the details here because it might be misconstrued as advertising my autobiography, and I don't want to do that. What I will tell you is that one of the suspects was done for fraud in the Royal court here due to my horsy investigations, and less that a week after being prosecuted for the crime committed was put in our BSJA team to represent the Island. So you can imagine why I had no time for the Jersey BSJA committee of that time.

Thank you for your kind words Kate, it means a lot to me when people care! I could do with some Coligone myself! I have had some reconstruction surgery, but that’s a whole other long story, lol.

Oh Watcher,
I have sent you a pm because my reply to what you said is just a bit too long to put up here. In brief: Location Jersey C.I. Source me personally, you have my real name there. You can check out my website if you like, I am bold/upfront with no fear stamped across my forehead; I tell the truth and be dammed, for I have nothing to hide, I have done nothing I am ashamed of, so you will only get straightforward replies from me no matter what you ask.
Have fun, and love your horses, Linda

That is horrific - when it happens to your horse you do tend to wonder if somebody really did this or whether it was the horses......I went into the field (after only 30 mins) and found both my arab mare and saddlebred boys legs covered in lacerations. The mare, when I took off her rug had two 3ft (if not longer) score marks - I'm so glad she had a rug on that day or she would have been opened right up.........
