How can you tell if a Sarcoid is healing? I am using Blood Root cream from the vet. Just done a week, now got to leave off for a week, then repeat.
The Sarcoid is really crusty/flaky,little bit came off yesterday.. Does that mean its healing?
Any advice welcomed!!!

My old horse had sarcoids and spring and autumn was when they seemed to flare up.

I did not use blood root but a special cream from Liverpool and the vet had to come and apply it very nasty stuff cost me a fortune too. Did the job.

A horse at our yard is using blood root and it scabs and the scab falls away taking the sarcoid it falls away on its own do as it says on the tin and nothing more.

Just keep at it I know it looks horrible and sore but make sure you keep the flies away its really tempting to pick at it but don't.

The horse at our yard has it under her stomach by her belly button my horse had them in his armpit never caused problems with tack. My horse had the round marble like ones wheres the horse at the yard has a flat one.

I was unsure of the best type of treatment as I did not want them to spread and there are so many trains of thought but from what I know like I said do as you are told nothing more nothing less. Good Luck
