How cheeky is this!!

Was in my 'local' feed shop last night. Went and picked up a bag of Happy Hoof and a bag of Speedibeet.

Went into office bit to pay and told her what I had on trolley. Happy hoof said £12.15 on bag - she tried to charge me £12.75.

When I objected

she took the hump and told me that 'it must be an old bag' and that it should be £12.75.

She did eventually sell it to me for the price on the bag but I will never, ever shop there again

Bearing in mind I spend at least £100 a month in there I wonder how many other folks she's gonna upset before she has no customers left at all.........

If it was an old bag you should have got it for half price!

I get frustrated when bags have stickers on that say £2 off, but it's not entered on the system, and by the time the bag is taken to your car, you have already paid.

I hate things like this. I know it sounds petty over a few pence but on principal I would have argued my case, even more so if they get stroppy.
You know, a lot of 'local' shops are not going to last much longer which is a real shame but is it any wonder when they have poor customer service. The days are gone when there is nowhere else for miles for you to get these items from so they need to look after their customers.

legally they have to sell it at marked price or take it off the shelf for 21 days. (or at least that was the law when I trained a few years ago)

its there loss. i once went to a merchants for 1 single bag and they said they would charge me for using my debit card. there is no way i will pay to spend my own money - i said poke it - well not quite those words

I cannot stand things like this - no wonder you were angry and are taking your custom elsewhere. Cripes. These people are so shortsighted, and when they start quibbling with the customer over a shop error, they just dont have any thought for all the business they are about to lose.

On the flip side to this lol I went into our local Musto store at xmas and saw their full length lovely waterproof coats marked up at 99.99 - they are 199.99! So, I took one to the till, v excited, and they realised their mistake and whipped all the others off the shopfloor quickly, not before I got a bargain yay. Anyway, sorry to sidetrack, and good luck shopping at a new feed merchant who will hopefully appreciate your custom.

Frankly at £12.15 they are taking the piss anyway!!

I have just checked my bill from my feed merchants - they are normally about 50p cheaper than the others - and they charge £10.45 for a bag of Happy Hoof!! Hope that hasn't pissed you off more.....

I only use them in an emergency cos the one I prefer is like 20 miles away..............
