Tonight, when I got my horses in, 3 of them has frozen rugs!!! Underneath they were toasty, warm and dry, but the outsides were quite literally frozen solid!

What a bad mum, making them stay out for 8 hrs (while I was a t work, earning a crust to keep them in luxury!)

Rubbish, not cruel.

Mine have got rigid rugs too, if I took them off they'd stand up by themselves like suits of armour. They had icicles this morning as well.
 
Went to check the ponies about 10pm last night, foot of snow on the ground and about 3 inches settled on their backs! The NF always has a line of frost on his mane if it's been freezing, yet he's toasty warm underneath (mind you I have rugged him last night and tonight). Will try to find a photo (can't find camera lead)
