As above really.
I'm a freelance groom and have a client who has 2 horses. I normally just ride one but she asked me to groom the other as well today as she's been very busy with work. So i took his rug off and got started and he is just riddled with lice.
Have obviously spoken to her and vet was coming out for vaccinations tomorrow anyway so they'll give her more advice and she's buying lice powder. But aside all that.
Obviously i don't want any of the horses I work with to catch it, do i need to wash my coat ect I was wearing when handling him before touching other horses?
Nver experienced it before so not really sure how long they live or whether they would of gotten inside my cloths ect? I groomed him quite vigorously, getting rid of a lot of loose hair which i saw had a fair bit of lice in.
