Well i have had enough in the job i have and i dont think am going to be any happier unless work with horses. I wouldnt mind a kind of job where help muck out, exercise horses, groom etc. I am starting a course soon which i do from home and then go up for study weeks and exams, so maybe a stables would employ me knowing that i will be training.
I'm coming up to answering the big "what am I gona do with my life" questions. (got one more year of uni) and I really don't know what to do, I'd love to work with horses and it really is my passion and the only job i've had since i was 12 but its not much of a life really. (no offence to people who do make a full time life out of horses) Very little pay for very hard work that normally leaves you with a mountain of physical probslems by the time you 40, albeit there is a massive amount of job satisfaction.
Now i'm thinking about equine vet nurse, sightly better money (the possibility of marrying a vet! hehe) but there are a million ways to go about it. *has idea for new thread. But there a million different jobs out there, unfortunaly I didn't take A2 biology (took chem, phys, math, philosophy + ethics) Any ideas whould be most welcome!
HI,
Working with horses is hard work, poor pay the majority of the time and long horus etc...
I know you say you don't mind now, but what about when you get older, maybe want a family etc....
My folks wouldn't let me when I was younger, now I'm considerably older than 25+vat, I am glad I continued study got my career going and the horses are a pleasure and a hobby.
Veterinary is a good way to go, in this materialistic society you do have to consider your own financial benefits.
What about looking for a reps job selling horse products etc....
not sure what you do now but it's never too late to have a change of career direction ~ I hate cold winters so I am so glad I work indoors.
Thanks for advice, at the moment i do link building for a labels company website. It use to be ok but suddenly it is getting to complicated and i dont know nothing about labels either which doesnt help with what i am meant to be doing.
I was thinking maybe i could offer a service of link building for websites, maybe for horses instead though. I dont know how i would go about asking if any would be insterested but would be alot more interesting than typing about labels all day.
I want to breed appys eventually and maybe have my own stables but that isnt going to happen for a long time. I have the skills to be able to link build for any website so was thinking i might aswell put it to some use. But i could also maybe help out at a stables exercising horses, etc.
i agree with super_cat!! no money in working with horses at all unless your well qualified and being an instructor or working in top jumping yard etc, before i was pregnant i was working on a yard and paying more to childminder for my son than i was actually earning!
my niece just kept looking on the internet she has worked for polly jackson and is currently working for nial griffin in ireland.

my niece left when she was 18 to go and work with horses.. but now is loving it been head girl in ireland
