I have seen a 300 g shires turn out rug but cannot really tell from the photo how deep they come up? i.e. I like the depth of horseware rugs so do they come up as deep as those? Thanks

yup - just bought a 300g combo shires rug - its fab and fits my tb's shoulders a treat, it also almost reaches his knees, so i'd say they are pretty deep....! am buying all my boys one as I am so pleased with it.....

Do you know who stocks them in Kent, as I can only find them on the web and wanted to have a look at one before I buy? Thanks

I have recently bought Chancer their summer turnout and he is still wearing it - still not cold enough to use anything else.

Very pleased with it - still dry after torrential rain on Sunday and he was out from 7 to 4.30.

Very deep rug - comes right down on his legs and right under his belly. He is a chunky 14.2 gypsy cob. Generous round the neck - more so than the medium weight amigo I bought at the same time.

Deeper than alot of others! I have the full neck one (no idea what model but I saw it cheap at a tack sale) - tbh I bought it as a spare as I'd always had the impression they weren't that nice but it's lovely!

Fit nice and high on chest so don't slip down over point of shoulder and still has enough room for my lads big shoulder, very waterproof and warm, nice and deep on belly and doesn't slip at all - would definitely buy another

Especially if I could get it for £38 again!

I like the nice shine the inside of the rug polishes their coat to!!!! Who needs to brush them????

Ours have the combo and yes, nice and generous fit.

This might give you an idea... Byter on the right of the pic has a shires combo on, and she has a very deep girth for a TB, and its good and deep on her, and very cosy!

Lovely rugs & brilliant value for money but I find they're too narrow across the chest for my ID & the top strap is too high.

oh the shires are fab. My IDX TB had to opt for a bigger size than normal but its a lovely fit. good value for money and nice and snug. They look nice too, except when they roll in the mud though!

My 400g shires rugs are deeper than Horseware Rambos and are super snug.

The only thing I can even find to moan about, is that the lining is quite slippery so great for keep shiney coats, but bad as I keep throwing them straight over the horse and land in a heap on the other side (less force perhaps??!!)

I love them, they are fab rugs and the 2000 denier outer means less sewing for me!!
