I personally only like them if they have four or none at all what do you think judges prefer?

i personally don't like them if they have one or three socks i think it detracts from there action and if they have two front/back it makes them look uneven - legs longer/shorter

Any opinions

I once saw an ad for a very nice (lovely confo) sec D weanling for sale for £100 - because he had no white markings. I really wished that I had room for him.

4 socks, 3, 2, 1 or no socks. My welshie is one very adored horse. I guess judges are as subjective as we are depending on the level of show.

This is my boy i have always done very well against four whites/stallions etc he has a very small star but i cant find my pics... :/ :)

There I was feeling a little smug thinking.. hm I have a welshie A with 4 even white socks then boom ...no white face - he has a big white face that luckily doesnt go over his eyes so doesnt make him look too bizarre. He does have proper welsh blue eyes however doesnt really have a dished head they like he's quite straight. However very a very pretty boy so fingers crossed for this show season!

Blue eyes? WOW? Iv never seen a welshie with blue eyes do you have any pics? :)))

I also used to have a Section A with 2 blue eyes, he was grey though & it did kind of suit him, he was by Pendock Dawn Raider, a lovely little chap, wish i knew where he was now.

Aw how lovely! What colour is you D? im trying to picture it but i cant im going on google images... ;)

I must admit I prefer a horse with 4 whites. I dont mind 1 or 2 whites but 3 really bugs me, just want to paint the last one in! lol

This little fellow is so cute but I would never buy him because i know that one black foot would bug me forever - i am a bit OCD.

I also get that urge - Sometimes it looks like they only have three legs when there trotting because of only have 3 :D

Im the same I find 3 white socks off putting - if the right horse came along who was perfect for the job but had 3 whites it wouldnt put me off buying it though.

I dont mind 2 back whites I think if they have a white stripe or white on the face it balances them out - 2 whites on the front and nothing on the back I always thinks looks a little strange.

White socks are a must, but white on the face is a no no.

Disagree with this Ihave to say - what about Nebo Bouncer, Nebo Daniel, Thorneyside The Boss, Horeb Euros to name but a few - all Royal Welsh Champions all with big white faces!!

As far as legs go my own pet hate is two whites on the sames side - I have a C with a white fore and hind on the same side and I'd rather she had any leg markings but that!! For the record she has white on her face but has been very succesful under saddle :)

IMO four whites are definately more desirable, possibly for a selling on point of view as much as in the show ring. This is in-turn producing more sabino markings. It is unfortunate if having 4 whites is more preferable than type but if they have both then all the better. Palamino, buckskin and cremello seem to be all the rage at present.

This is my Filly, 4 whites, with a white face and has been excellently bred and placed in her career so far...

got to say i have never heard of this 'no white face' buisiness before...
