My friend is in Australia on a business trip and got a phone call last night from the girl that is looking after her horses.

The phone call was to say that her old horse holly was laying dead in her field.

The girl went up to the horses last night at 6pm and found holly in the field dead she was an old horse between 38 and 42. I just feel sorry for my friend as she is in Australia and not due back till next friday and she is out there on her own.

Oh no, how sad

Huge (((Hugs))) for your friend

That's so sad for your friend, but I hope she'll take some comfort from the fact that Holly had a long life and it sounds like she died peacefully in her field at home.

yeah i think she has. Was just speaking to her and she just keeps saying how good she was looking just before she left.

She is a pretty down to earth person and does realise she was an old horse and it was her time to go.
I just suppose it still doesnt make it any easier.

Oh my god, poor girl, so do they know if anything caused it? Or it was just old age, I bet the girl that was looking ater her feels awful, not her fault though. Well huge hugs to your friend, poor thing x

It must have been a horrible shock, especially hard when she is supposed to be concentrating on work issues. But at least she might be able to take comfort from the fact that she hasn't had to make the decision.

It is the phone call every horse owner dreads to get, but it must be so much harder on your friend considering where she is

I really hope that she copes as well as she can do. (((((((vibes and hugs)))))))

Your friend must be so upset - and it must be horrible for the girl that was looking after them too. To have an animal die while you're looking after it for someone else is one of the worst things.

RIP Holly.

How tragic...poor friend to have been over the otherside of the world and receive that news....she sounds like she's being very brave about it obviously realising the ponies age.

I feel for them all incl the friend that was looking after them...not a nice thing to witness at all..

Huge hugs to you all and RIP Holly
