How did you find your Instructor?

Word and mouth really, gave her a try and over a year later still have her. Sometimes some one can say they are great, but really its up to you, you must feel that you and horse click with them. With mine she never makes you feel stupid or useless, and I am never afraid to say that I do not understand what she means, and that is how you must feel about anyone that you choose. Good luck with it.

Are you looking from a customers point of view or for advertising? I have a website and a fb page. Yellow pages is expensive. If you have a website you can agree to include other equestrian businesses on your links page if they return favour. Word of mouth is by far best though. It really is a case of "proof is in the pudding". Alot of my new clients are referrals from current clients. Also do you compete?? People looking for training like to know that thier instructor is teaching from experience rather than out of a text book. If i'm honest its relatively easy to obtain BHSAI (IMO should be harder) I know a few FAB instructors that donlt have AI but years of invaluable experience.

This and she gets results with the riders she trains.

I met mine out hacking! Found out she was a BHSAI and also an Equine Sports Massage Therapist and haven't looked back!

I've only had four lessons with her so far but what we have achieved since I have been going to her (both during our lessons, on our own practising and bumping in to her out walking her dog going the same way as me hacking = free lesson! has been amazing!

Word of mouth and then watching instructors teaching others, I have two, my weekly instructor and a dressage instructor who does clinics at our yard. the first was my friends instructor, she is now one of my best friends, the second teaches at my yard and I watched him teaching my instructor and really liked the way he taught. I think it is really important to get your instructor and your instructor to get you :)

Thanks for the advice, guys. Some useful thoughts.

Looking from an advertising point of view, bunnereeny. I've only recently set up in the area - I have several loyal clients, and business is growing, but I'm wanting to get out there to a much wider audience really.
