I know it comes with lots of lessons/ practice and experience ect but how did you find your comfy secure riding seat?
Any tips to remind yourself to sit correctly in the saddle? I tend to tip forward when I am riding, I don't even realize I am doing it as I feel secure but obviously its not good to tip. When I adjust to sit correctly on my bum I feel like I am leaning back and after a minute or two I am back in my slightly tipped position.

Tongue in cheek response is that I haven't yet, but I reckon it's down the back of the sofa along with my brave pants haha.

On a slightly more serious note, and still whilst not really finding the secure seat, I tend to tip forward too. Lots going on to fix it - from tight hips (needing a stronger core and stretches), horse not forward and off the leg enough (cue nagging and leaning forward to get more go, which ofc is the wrong thing to do!). Whilst riding the fix for me is to think about shoulder blades together and pubic bone up. That takes the hollow out of my spine and makes me sit up straighter with a stronger core. And look up!

Whilst you're in this phase you may well need to remind yourself constantly to do these things until they become muscle memory.

I tell my clients that unfortunately a real "seat" and "feel" comes from hours in the saddle.

You can speed up the process by doing the majority of your riding without stirrups, and by doing a lot of hacking.

I got a really good saddle! My seat has improved massively over the past 12 months - some of that is down to my horse, some of it down to a lot of hard work riding in a 2 point seat, and a lot of it down to my Harry Dabbs saddle which is absolutely dreamily fantastic :)

I've a harry dabbs saddle brillent to ride in ditto above ride no stirrups helps give a deep indepentant seat if on lunge ride with no stirrups or reins helps with balance seen to many riders bouncing about calves gripping toes ten to two and hanging on reins for balance not a pretty sight practice makes perfect
