My best friend, I'm very lucky. She brought him but he's as much mine as hers (her words) although I can't help her hugely in a financial way I help look after him, buy his food and bits+bobs when I can and I ride him ATM as friend is recovering from septicaemia :-(
My first one was through someone at work who had fallen off and broken her ribs so the horse need exercise whilst she recovered. This share lasted 12 years and only finished cos I moved away
I'm currently sharing a cob (found thru ad on Horsemart).
He's a nice boy but does know he can take the rise out of me somewhat! but it's a lovely yard he's on and I am about to start loaning a mare - found via word of mouth - and hoping to get a space on this yard; so it's been very positive sharing him!
current one ( somewhere between share and full loan) on ad trader - though it turned out that I knew the owner as had jump judged at her events. Previous, my first share horse from an advert in the vets (I wasn't actually looking) then when he was moving away one of the girls on the yard recommended me to someone who was thinking of a sharer.
I found an advert at our local farmer suppliers where we needed some fencing for our new house so that my little Terrier can't escape. Ended up with 2 horses on loan and bought a pony for our kids shortly after. My husband still says that was his most expensive shopping trip to a DIY shop
