Hey Cat parents

What did you do to get your Cat to stop spraying

Any special trick or methods you used to stop this behavior?

There's plenty of advice on the Internet

Thanks

Snip doesn’t always work unfortunately. I had two neutered males who would spray in the house, and I never cracked the problem.

I think Jackson Galaxy has done programmes that cover this - Quest Red channel 'My Cat From Hell'. Can't remember exactly what he did for this problem but it will have been about allowing the cat to own the space I think...

Have you tried using a Feliway plug-in diffuser, and the Feliway spray for specific areas that are being sprayed on?

It would be helpful to know more about your set up. Are you in a multi-cat household? Is your cat outdoors-indoors or indoor-only? Does your cat have any medical conditions or other behaviour issues? Has he just started spraying or has he done it ever since you have had him? Are there small children or lots of people in your household? Etc etc etc.

SSScat. It’s a motion sensor doohickey that mounts onto a can of compressed air. Place one near the spots he sprays and it will deliver a spray of air that will give him an unpleasant surprise with no harm done. I had a bunch of them and they did the trick with my (neutered)boy.
