HOw did your pupil do 4 faulter at the BE event??

Bit of a frustrating day.
Did a very nice dressage test but score realy didn't reflect the quality. 34
SJ she rode beautifully to go clear.
XC he was running very nicely up until fence 10ab. He backed off significantly comming in to the first element, pupil took hand of rein to give him a reminder which got him over element A but left her with only one hand on reins for B and he ducked out which cost her the win as section was won on 34.5. The run out wa a combination of errors, he shouldn't have backed off but then he hadn't seen any type of fence (sj or XC) until the begining of last year so still green at times. On the riders part I have a feeling she was perhaps a little too laid back about the XC. He's been running well recently and qualified for PN championship finals last week at Prestwold so GT was a no pressure run. Possibly a useful wakeup call for the finals.
On a positive note they still managed to come home inside the time despite the stop which has been my main concern as we prepare to move up to novice after the PN finals.
So yes, a frustrating day but possibly needed to add focus for the big one.

Above mentioned pupil here.

Thanks for the blow by blow of yesterday, it doesn't make me sound a complete idiot, which is always nice.
