how do i delete a post

You go into edit & that gives you the option to change or delete however this option is only open to you for a set length of time. then the post has to remain.
 
If it's the post in the thread below I'd leave it. You'll make a lot worse posts in your time here so don't worry about it - for instance you could mention the P word and get hung
