I have just has a horse 5* vetted who passed so am really pleased, esp. as the vet thinks the horse is 8 and not 10. The vet also found a microchip on the horse and thinks it is a Danish one. He has written the chip details down and is going to send them to me, along with the certificate, etc.

My question is; how do I go about tracing a horse through its microchip? Will the Danish horse board be able to help me? Is there even such a thing?!!

Any suggestions please – am really keen to trace this horse’s history and am rather excited about the whole thing!

Tracing chips is not too difficult. If you have problems email or pm me.

There are international databases where, even if the particular implanter hasn't registered the particular chip it is normally possible to find out who bought the chip as part of a batch prior to implanting and through that to find out who did the implanting.
