As title really...my 2yo is going thru a bit of a phase of breaking the fencing. I use a Fenceman CP500 energiser and have never had any problems with it giving her a shock before. I spent 3 hours yesterday putting brand new tape up and electrifying it and this morning she had broken out again :(

I'm thinking if I can get it on the mains it will defo give her a good shock and she should be more respectful of it.

So can ayone give me a step by step way of installing mains energiser and fencing? :D

I'm afraid I only have a go-ahead yogurty bar thing (if you can help me!) on offer! I'm attempting to be good!! lol ;)

The fencing remains the same. In the good old days you chose your fence unit and got your electrician to install it to a cooker-type point. These days they may do versions that plug into a household socket, it's worth ringing your fencing supplier to find out - or googling.

Alternatively you could be mean and wrap a figure eight of tape round her neck, up over her withers and round behind her front legs. If she pushes through it it should give her a good belt. *awaits flaming for cruelty*

Or a further suggestion would be to get a fence tester and make sure that you haven't got leaks to earth anywhere which are reducing the efficiency of the fencing you already have. It would also be worth checking that the fencer you have is appropriate for the length of wire you are expecting it to energise.

That is my next plan ;) I am going to qrap her like a mummy in electric tape and hook her up to the mains if she does it again!!!!

Chuck a bucket of water over her as well!

*trundles off, muttering, to find escapee sheep who has bust out of the starvation paddock AGAIN and wrap it up in electric tape*

My houdini never used to respect electric fencing and always found a way out. Attached it to a motorbike battery and *fingers crossed* will now not touch it!:D

what joules is your battery enegizer? mains is very easy to intall plug the unit in, earth it well, and attach to tape/ 6 joules is about the highest you can legally charge a fence to, but you can increase conductivity by having a line of fencing linked to the earth only.

No idea  lol Its a powerful energiser though. I think I stopped her last night. She stayed in her field :D She got a belt off of it and then proceeded to go straight back to try again....clearly she isnt the brightest bulb in the box!

The Fenceman CP500 has only 0.5J output, so not that powerful.
OP, get a fence tester and check how many volts are actually going through the fenceline.
As to attaching to the mains, you need a mains energiser, a 13 amp socket, long earth stake and some lead out cable.
