How do I put a picture in my post?

I'm getting really confused on how to put a picture in my post. Can anyone help me?
I'm sure i'm just being dippy!

you have to have uploaded the photo on to the net first, so either on your own server or somwhere like Photobucket, then you copy the path to your photo into the box where you normally write, putting [image] before the path and [/image] after
