Border collies are very clever aren't they?!!

At just five months old she has learnt how to open the front door

The front door opens into the Utility Room which opens onto the garden. When the dogs are wet, muddy and disgusting I shut them out in the utility room with access to garden to dry off and keep my lovely new carpets clean!

Unfortunately that clever little BC has quickly learn't that with her ridiculously long legs, she can jump up at the handle, pull it down and open the door allowing herself and the other two disgustingly wet and filthy dogs into the house :rolleyes: all running in with a happy, so glad to see you, grin on their faces!

So, other than actually changing the door handle, I guess I am stuffed now then!!

The next trick will be trying to teach her to close the door after her! :D

I have two door openers...nightmare aren't they! I thought of changing the door handles for the round nobby ones but never got round to it!

LOL - you and me both then!! I suppose I will have to change the front door handle! Who would have thought that puppies could actually cause you to change the fixtures and fittings of your house ;)

The incident where all mine escaped off round the mendips was caused by a door opener...and me forgetting to lock the french doors instead of just shut them  :p :D

And thats another thing! We all know about Flyn's forrays around the farm, sitting in random stranger's Landrovers waiting to be taken to somewhere exciting but now he has taught Rosie how to get out of the garden too !

Grrrrr - who'd have dogs eh? :D

AH you are a mean mother, he is just teaching her the finer things in life...he likes a nice landy ride :p :D

My wirey pointer also opens the doors, the conservatorey exterior doors then the interior to get into the living room and the back door, always to get in if he believes he has been forgotten about:rolleyes: he never attempts to open the front, which is probably a good thing:D

So, in conclusion then, I need to sit Rosie down and explain to her in depth, that opening the front door or escaping out of the garden after Flyn is the not the actions of a lady!

Do you think she will listen? :D

LOL! WE had a setter that could open doors even with round handles. We used a security chain in the end. One of the ones that you put on a front door and it only opens a little way.

Our collie opens every door in the house lol....solution...we turned them upside down so u lift up to open instead of pull down.
Sorted, one collie who stays where shes put lol.

what a brilliant idea!! Hmmm, I wonder if I take the door handle and lock out whether I will ever be able to put it all back again? :)

Spudlet - I would have to teach Rosie the passcode as I am damn sure I would forget it!
