Just out of interest...? Wondered what people felt when they had sold a horse/pony....I wonder if someone feel happy about it if the horse has been a pain, glad cause they are going onto to someone who will be riding them and using them more, etc etc....
I sold my pony last year and I have never really felt like I have got over it....although I try not to think about it, and at the time it did make sense, I do believe I may have got by ok, by not selling her and staying with me....even though it would have made money tight...
Once I weigh things up I realise it was the best move, but it still plays on my heartstrings....I do not keep in touch with the owners as I do not want to hear that they have sold her on or she is not being kept correctly...Am I just soft or does this guilty feeling ever go...?
What do other people feel...

I sold a pony i had aquired as i had no-one to ride hima nd he was turning into a little sod as he was so fed up of the same routine. I tried selling him but as a 7 yo 12hh pony he just wasnt safe enough as a 1st pony and was too small for older children. A lady i used to have on livery bought him when our yard was taken back which i was pleased about because i knew her and she took great care of her older pony, he only went to be a field friend.
3weeks after he was sold, they had him PTS becuase he kept escaping from the field and cuasing them inconvienience, im sure most people will remeber this story, but after months of trying to make contact we have had confirmation from the owners that this is all correct and theyre not clever enough people to try covering up a sale by lying, theyre silly honest (Would drop themselves in the s**t everytime).
I will never forgive myself for selling him!

I hate selling them, not so bad with the ones who are here for a few months specifically to sell, but the ones that are 'mine' and so I have for a few years, its awful.
Hated selling the baby horse we only had for 7months!
Mind out of my own four, I have sold one, loaned one, one died and the other is still here!

i sold a little mare that i brought as a project to sell on only had her about 4/5 months and i haven't shed a tear but its just due to the fact that she seems to be soo happy in her new home and i keep getting updates about her

when i had a loan pony and he had to go back even though he was never mine i was really upset about that so i think it depends on the horse and your relationship with it
