Hi, Just wondering. How does it work when trade stands go to events? Do they pay a fixed fee or a % of costs? If so how much? Are there exclusivity contracts?!
We pay a site rent which depends o the size of the event and how much space we have. Start from £25 per day. A good event would not have too many of the same type of stand and if a small evnt not too many stands. Nothing looks worse than a massive dead trade area
We pay a fixed amount- depending on the size of the show/event. No exclusivity contracts.
We're making bookings now for July/August- the main one we've already sorted is Bramham 3DE (been going for years) and we've also sorted the team chases we got to.
I think some of them are based on square footage of stand for length of show. Very variable depending on badminton or a lower level event. The top level events are now very hard to get into, as will only take new stands, as old ones disappear and if your product is what they are looking for.
Sorry dont know exact figures, someone will prob be able to give you more info. If not can ask my next door neighbour as he has a trade stand at a few events.
There's definitely exclusivity contracts for some though because for the company I work for, we're not even allowed to know where the tradestand is going just incase a rival company finds out and tries to outbid or steal the tradestand pitch (and it does happen). And they do seem to get some of the biggest/best pitches around looking at tradestand plans/maps.
Guess it depends on the event, company and money behind it.
I organise the tradetands for our local horse trial (Intro - CIC** status). We charge a fixed fee for 5m frontage and £10 a meter thereafter plus VAT. We don't supply electricity or water. If you are interested in knowing more info I can PM you our application forms etc.
