One horse I can syringe in the mouth no problem the other has to have it in her food as she just spits it all out, so squirted £20 worth pramox in lovely feed and she turned her nose right up, any recommendations, maybe pallatable equimax tablets? I am worried about bots as she was covered in the late summer and feel this is the best time to winter worm.. your thoughts appreciated thx

Whack a headcollar on, once syringed in, hold head right up in the air so its hard for them to gob it out

thats easier said than done if the horse is big and/ or the owner short :D :D

one of mine will happily be syringed or have the tablets, the other won't accept either without a battle but is more than happy to have dry powder version mixed with her chaff. Totally illogical but hell it works for her!

Good luck :p

I smother the tube in peanut butter - they can't get enough of it then ;)

I had a very differcult mare to worm, even the vet couldn't do it. The only way I could worm her was to grab and twist her nose so she opened her mouth and streached her head slightly and stright back her mouth, didn't even know she had taken it. But neally lost the syringe a few times down her thoath. Woops

If you use a large syringe with a big openning or an old empty worming syringe and cut the end off and fill it up with something your horse likes e.g. mashed up apples, treacle etc and give it to him/her every day for a week or two then sneek in the wormer on the last day followed by another one containing the treat you shouldn't have any problems.
