Or cope once you've got it?

As soon as I clean it, the mould comes back, esp in the little used leatherwork. Getting seriously fed up of it now .....

Anyone keep a little heater in their tack room or have a solution? Thanks

The only thing I've found that works is to keep covers on saddles and store bridles in bags (I have a nice Stubben one). Our tack room is also the wash room, so mould/damp is pretty much unavoidable :(.

Only other top tip I have is to clean your tack every time you use it and bring home tack that isn't being used.

Heated tack room and a dehumidifier. Wiping over with white vinegar also kills mould; there are some commercial anti-mould
preparations too. Older, sticky/over-cleaned tack seems to get mouldy quickly whereas the stuff that isn't so gummed up with saddle soap stays mould-free.

Ok so some white vinegar would work, does it need diluting? .. I have far too much stuff to I use only occasionally, that's the stuff that gets mouldy, rather than the stuff used everyday. Anyone got any other tips? :)

I found a tack cleaner on ebay called Buffalo. They do a whole range of different cleaners, and this one helps prevent mould forming. Only thing with it it doesn't leave a shine and you have to use a conditioner

My tack hasn't been as mouldy this year since using Buffalo

Heater in the tack room is the only thing I have found works. With our polo tack it's hanging from sept - feb and a heater stops the mould.
