how do you cope with selling your best friend?

Today my best friend went to his new home.

I am so upset. I live alone so spent all my time with him he is the most wonderfully loving horse ever.

But as my health deteriorated he became too much for me to ride.

I couldn't have hoped for a better home for him. I went with him to settle him in and can go and see him when ever I like. his new mom will also compete him at my yard

I know it will be better for him, he will have a much more exciting life, which he craved

every time the tears start I tell myself I am stupid and pull myself together

I am looking for a new friend but its hard

Well for a start its not stupid to be upset at all and i think you are allowed a good cry. You will be sad as presumably you had plans and he sounds like you had a strong relationship. Be proud of yoursef for being selfless and thinking of him first. I hope you find a lovley new horsey friend who can do what you want as this will help im sure. Big hugs from me..
