I am thinking of selling my 3 year old but I have absolutely no idea what she is worth. I bought her as a foal and have noidea what she would be worth now and in the current market. Any ideas please?

I think the main way to do it is look on horse for sale websites.

Put in as many relevant details as you can about your horse into the advanced search and see what it comes up with. (Clearly markings or colouring aren't significant)
Then find the horses most similar to yours and look at the prices, if they are all the same, I think that would be a good starting point in valuing your horse :)

Its a tough one. IN that case you have to be very honest, look at conformation, breeding etc. Think of how much you paid for her, that will give you an idea what her breeders thought she was worth. Maybe contact a breeder and ask them
We all have rose tinted spec when it comes to our own horses and very often our friend do too, either that or they are afraid to offend
Also bear in mind some of the people advertising will be wearing said same glasses too lol

If she was older you would take into account what she had done, any ailments etc so its more difficult with a youngster

oh also if you can look at any videos of other horses for sale moving and see how she compares, again you have to know what you are looking for and be honest with yourself

Depends on lots of things; breeding, conformation, show record, temperament, showing successes and the successes of any siblings.

If you could give a few more details I'm sure someone could help you come up with a figure?

I have just sold my 3yr old who is superbly bred and I know WILL be a superb showjumper (as she was bred for this and jumps all my fencing!!!) however she does bite and I knew this would put off some buyers.
Basically, on paper she was worth £2,250 but I thought realistically she was worth £1,200 easily. However, people with suitable skills to take on a 3 yr old are limited and I was worried about her future. I got about 5 calls on her but only one person came out and they ummed and ahhed. To cut a long story short she has now been sold to the owner of her sire (without even seeing her) for .........£900.
This doesnt cover the stud fee + care for the last 3 years but I know she will have a good future and I know if I was buying a 3yr old with no performance record yet I wouldnt want to pay much!
Hope I havent depressed you too much!

This is her on the page i bought her from www.weekorchard.co.uk/Nareco.html
She has won or come second at the shows i've taken her to. Her temperament is outstanding and she is the most willing horse i have ever met!

This is her last summer as a two yr old

Wow! what a stunner! Hope you find her a good home. I definitely wouldnt risk trying to break her in first - she sells herself in hand!

She's gorgeous! I would do as others have said and try to find similar horses for sale, look at ones with similar bloodlines, doesn't necessarily have to be the same studbook but similar types experience etc. Bear in mind that some people hugely overprice their horses so just do as much research as you can. Personally i'd rather over price and then drop than have one snapped up and wonder if i could have got more

Thanks for your kind words. I'm not sure i'll be able to bring myself to sell her yet, I have two three year olds and I am worried I won't have time to give them both my all.
