i dont know if you have seen my previous post about my mare who has cushings it was recently confirmed and she was put on tablets ,she was fine taking them until today when she had decided she was not going to have it
i have been putting it inside a piece of apple

what do you guys give your horse ?

thanks

Ive read a lot about putting it into the hole of a sugar free polo. This is how ive been giving mine but last few days he is not so keen so maybe he is cottoning onto it?

hollow a carrot, shove in tablet, pack hole with carrot scrapings?

Dissolve tablet in water, use water to soak feed?

Put tablet in feed and hope horse doesnt notice?

Crush them. Then depending how fussy she is, hide in feed, or on a jam sandwich etc. (not tried it but heard on here of people using marmite butties)

My horse has to have 25 tablets a day. They don't dissolve in water. I use a coffee grinder to crush them and then mix it with a small amount of sugar-beet which I then add to her chaff. It works and provided I have mixed all the powder up she eats it.
