Trying to figure out what most needed/used in the horse world, also if you could add your county, it would would be very helpful. Thanks

Part livery.
My mum and I were talking actually and in my area (surrey/hants border) there is a lot of part/full livery yards but a shortage of top quality DIY yards. I think it's because they don't make enough profit and are a pain to run.

I'm diy at a livery yard- there is only my 4 as diy, the YO's dressage horse and one other pony on full livery..

The other horses live out, it's bliss:D so if anything goes missing- i can only blame mother or myself:rolleyes:

Just bought house with own land, stables and teeny tiny arena.

Its total bliss, the horses are happier and I am calmer as I can micromanage their routine to my hearts content without asking anyone elses permission!

I am however, now totally broke and going to be living on beans on toast for the rest of my life ...

Prior to that, part-livery and DIY. I live in Hampshire and agree that there is a lack of decent, well-run DIY yards. Also decent part-livery if I am honest!!!

On a very small 'yard' that's owned by an old boy who rents three of us a stable ( = created in an old barn!) and our own individual turnout field to sub divide and use as we see fit.

So 100% DIY, he's not interested if there's a problem , we each maintain our own stable /field.

Fortunately we all get along great- no bit**ing or stabbing in the back.

We pay £17 per horse- this is south northants :)

Hello!

I am in Aberdeen, Scotland and I keep my mare at a DIY only yard on grass livery. I am on the waiting list for a stable though I would like to stable her overnight in the winter time :)

At home all 60+ of them not all mine but quite a few are ours.
Several live out broodmares, youngsters etc 15 boxes, some huge barn boxes and a barn.

I've got my own place, about 3 acres with stables and storage. It's two miles from my house and I totally love it. Owned it for about 5 years now. My 3 live out most of the time but use the stables if its very wet. I live in Cumbria.

The plan is, as a family to buy a house with land/stables. And have my 2 my nieces and nephew a pony each, and If land/stables permit a few liveries. Currently in Hertfordshire but I don't think county will stop us looking else where.

2 of them on DIY Livery on a DIY only yard, around 30 horses, is that big or medium? For the most part I love it there, can't fault the place. Monthly rate includes ad lib haylage and straw in winter months, so easy.

1 of them I keep DIY on a private yard with my friend's 2 horses, no facilities other than the basics, fields, stables that's it (for which I am grateful) not great hacking but as the horse is largely ornamental it doesnt matter. It's also a nice little bolthole to get away from the world when you want to as it's private yard

I'm based in North Wilts, a scan of the local ads tells me that the small private yard on a farm is very much in demand and not always easy to come by

Full livery on a small yard, but looking around for a new one as this has no turnout and I feel my horse really needs to be out. A bit of a challenge though, as most places here in Portugal don't have any turnout.

Own yard but not attached to home. Kept out as much as possible.
Home Counties.

Scotland. 1 on Full livery, 1 on grass livery (I'm there every day but I wouldn't have time to muck out etc the one that prefers to be stabled at night & also see to the one who prefers to live out 24/7 & work full time). Big huge yard which I love, everyone really nice and lots of support. Wouldn't want to keep horses at home again, I found it lonely and lack of facilities a real pain!
