when you have seen a horse is it the one that you fall in love with who is stunning but might not do everything you wanted him for?

or do you hold out for the one that will tick all your boxes?

I tend to choose a horse with my heart & blinded by the horse & tend to end up with a horse I feel sorry for, wheres my daughter is more practical & says he is not what you was looking for & you should wait for the right one

will I know when I see the right horse for me

does anyone else have this problem?

I have recently bought my first horse. After several viewings no horses really clicked with me. I'm was willing to buy one with small issues that I knew I could fix but conformational issues or malicious attempts to throw me off I didn't settle for. The one I ended up getting was quite a bit smaller than what I was looking for but I don't look too big on it. And I don't regret it for a minute. He's so perfect and I'm incredibly happy with him. What I would recommend is don't buy one after just one viewing have three viewings as a minimum before you buy or make any decisions. Also don't get pushed into anything by the owner or anyone else. And if an owner doesn't want you to have anymore than one viewing that should ring alarm bells.

I think you need to fall in love with them as well as finding one which satisfies the practical considerations. Its lovely having an equine friend that suits your personality. I bought a mare earlier this year who ticked most of the boxes but it was her unique quirky little character which drew me to her and she makes me smile and feel happy every day. For me this is just as important as doing a good job for you.
