Does anyone make their own fly spray? If so, what do you put in it?

I am a bit reluctant to pay £10 for a bottle that lasts a week!

I have just bought a fly rug while she is out as she has a thin coat and has come up in lumps. But she also gets bitten in her stable, so would like some spray for when she is in so she doesnt have to wear a rug 24/7.

Suggestions welcome. Thanks you :)

Mine is:
40 drops Citronella oil
40 drops Tea Tree oil
40 drops Neem oil
40 drops Eucalyptus oil
1 tbsp washing up liquid
2 tbsp cider/white wine vinegar
4 caps of Dettol
Water from 2 cloves of stewed garlic to make it up to 500ml. (Crush garlic cloves, put in cold water bring to boil, simmer for a minute or so then let cool then strain garlic out)
It STINKS but it works!

Hi, I make mine with 1/3 bottle of citronella from the Chemist, 1 mug of cold tea (good to stop the eyes from watering) a drop of washing up liquid, a glug of vinager and the rest water, seems to work just as well as anything else Ive brought, I dont like the idea of putting any chemicals like dettol in it though!
