For a saddle I would like a rough idea of what size ben is but I cant remember how to do it?

Does anyone have any saddle suggestions for him? He has high withers aswell here is a pic of him to give you an idea of his type. Also he is roughly 17.3.

I got the measuring kit of wintec, let you know the gullet size, very handy we device, otherwise i would be stuck!

Ooh where can you get them from? might have to buy one as would be nice to know what size he is, As am looking into getting a saddle but want a new one and have seen some I like but dont know bens size.

i use a flexible curve, push it in pretty firmly on both sides about 6" back from bottom of mane to get the shape, then immediately put it on a big piece of paper or card and draw along the line, and take it to the saddler. the advantage of this is that it shows really clearly if there is uneven musculature as well.

apparently you can always use a coat hanger but never tried it tbh lol

I have a huge pathfinder saddle which I advertised and had to do a template. I tried a wire coat hanger but it was far too springy, so, I bought a length of soldering wire and it works very well. ( still got the saddle though)
